Heisann! Nå er jeg tilbake.
I'm back! Yay!
Maybe nobody noticed I was gone. I had almost forgotten the existence of this blog. I didn't recall how to get here. But thank God for Google. And a bit of logic reminded me of the password I forgot to write down somewhere.
Weird isn't it. Life is full of pin codes and passwords. 10 years ago, I just barely understood how to set up an email account. Now life without them is unthinkable. For some.
I found a new purpose. To blog about Norway. This new chapter in my life was nowhere clear at the beginning of the year, but now seems perfectly right. Being here. I am grateful for the chance to live here, excitedly learning more about Norwegian society and finding my place in it, as I am determined to master the language by early next year.
Language is one challenge I always can rise to. Yay! It brings such marvelous benefits. Like being able to order things and get them. Or respond to others and know by their reaction that you have understood. Nothing more rewarding than success, unless you count the joy of getting there.
Hurra!

Glücksschmied/ Luck
Jeg elsker Norge!
We left Hamburg in a rain cloud to soar in the sunshine on the way to Amsterdam. Holland was grey and wet, too. But as we crossed the North Sea, it was sunny ahead. We landed in Stavanger for the first time with warmer weather than we had left behind.
In the first awkward moments of getting to know the place, we couldn't find a parking space. Eventually we pulled into a parking lot. But we had no coins for the meter. Fan walked a few steps and found ten Kroner on the ground which covered parking for two hours.
Did we just get lucky, or did we make our own luck? Success gurus suggest luck is our own making. I like to believe that. It makes it easier to accept whatever luck brings, good or bad. It's up to me how I take life, or make it. And even the weather is feedback on where I'm at. We had a whole week of sunshine in Norway. A good omen!
Every ray of sunshine is joy, each drop of rain a boon. Hugs for Haiti.
Manche Leute sagen, man sieht und erlebt, was man sehen und erleben will.
Hurra!

Twist/ Drehung
Just rediscovered the Carpenters! Thank God for You Tube. How on earth did I live without it? The Carpenters songs nurtured me throughout my childhood. Haven't heard them for ages--until today.Yay!
Anyway, yesterday I thought I was going to blog about going to Norway. Then my Canadian immigration application turned up. Ha! It never rains but it pours. Opportunities galore! I have no clue where I'll go next or what I'll do. But there's a lesson or few in this.
Firstly, stay the course. Do what you have to do as best you can and work towards your bigger dreams. Just when you think things may never work out, that's when something pans out. I think an optimistic spirit of acceptance helps most. I put in my order for Canada, did what I had to do and moved on cheerfully.
Maybe both are possible. Canada and Norway both hold similar appeal. And when the climate changes intensify, up north will likely be better than the hot spots of the current world. I say this only half in jest.
Life sometimes takes turns we don't expect. Whee! What a ride. Heh! Hugs for Haiti. Yay!
